# Guv > Guv is a UK-hosted platform for deploying web apps, APIs, workers, cron jobs and managed Postgres. Data stays in London, every service runs in its own microVM, billing is in GBP per second of actual use with hard spend caps, and a Safety Centre grades each project from A to E. It is designed to be operated by AI agents through an API, CLI and MCP server, with scoped agent tokens and human approval for risky actions. Key facts: - Region: London (lon1). Residency `uk-only` keeps compute, volumes, backups and logs in the UK. Hosting is on OVHcloud UK: UK-hosted, not US-owned. - Remote MCP server: https://mcp.guv.dev (OAuth 2.1). Local: `guv mcp`. Install agent skills with `guv setup agent`. - API: https://api.guv.dev (OpenAPI 3.1 at https://guv.dev/openapi.yaml). Errors are problem+json with a stable `code`; each has a page at https://guv.dev/errors/. - Manifest: `guv.yaml`, JSON Schema at https://guv.dev/schema/v1.json. - Agents: when an action needs a human, the API returns 403 `approval_required` (CLI exit code 4). Wait for approval; never work around it. Never ask a human to paste a secret into chat; ask them to run `guv secrets set`. - Plans (ex VAT): Trial free trial (£5 credit, card required); Hobby £5/month including £5 of usage; Pro £20/month including £20 of usage; Business £250/month including £250 of usage; Dedicated custom. - Usage rates (ex VAT): Compute: £10 per vCPU per month; Memory: £5 per GB per month; Volume storage: £0.10 per GB per month; Replicated volume storage: £0.20 per GB per month; Postgres storage: £0.15 per GB per month; Outbound data: 100 GB free, then £0.02/GB; Static outbound IP: £5 per month; Builds: Free. ## Docs - [Guv documentation](https://guv.dev/docs.md): Deploy apps, databases and AI-built projects on UK infrastructure, safely, with caps on what you spend. - [Quickstart](https://guv.dev/docs/quickstart.md): Deploy your first app to London in about three minutes, from GitHub, from your terminal or through your AI. - [How Guv fits together](https://guv.dev/docs/concepts.md): Workspaces, projects, environments, services, databases and domains, and how they relate. - [Deploy with your AI](https://guv.dev/docs/agents.md): Connect Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any MCP client to Guv, with tokens that have scopes, budgets and approval gates. - [Safety Centre](https://guv.dev/docs/safety-centre.md): What your A to E safety grade means, what Guv checks, and how to fix each finding. - [Spend and caps](https://guv.dev/docs/spend.md): How Guv bills in pounds, per second of actual use, and how hard spend caps stop surprise bills. - [Custom domains](https://guv.dev/docs/domains.md): Point your own domain at a Guv service.
