Terms

Website and waitlist terms

Short and plain: what you can expect from us while Guv is in private preview, and what we ask of you. The terms for using the platform itself will be published before sign-ups open.

Draft

This is a draft for legal review, not yet final. It describes how we intend to work at launch. Wording may change before Guv opens to the public. Last updated 23 October 2026.

About these terms

These terms apply when you use guv.dev (the "website") or join the Guv waitlist. The website is run by Guv Ltd (in formation) ("Guv", "we", "us"). Our company number and registered office will appear here once the company is registered.

Using the Guv platform (deploying apps, creating databases, paying for usage) will be covered by separate customer terms and a data processing agreement. We will publish both before sign-ups open, and you will see them before you create an account. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy notice.

The waitlist

  • Joining is free and does not commit you to anything.
  • A place on the waitlist is not a promise of access by a particular date. We invite people in waves as capacity allows, and we may prioritise some uses, such as UK teams with data-residency needs.
  • Please join with your own email address, once. We may remove entries that look automated, duplicated or abusive.
  • You can leave at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or by emailing us.

Prices and features

Guv is in private preview. The prices, plans and features described on this website are what we intend to offer at launch. They may change before then, and nothing on the website is an offer that forms a contract. Prices exclude VAT unless we say otherwise. The price that applies to you will be the one shown when you sign up.

Using this website

You are welcome to read, link to and share anything on the website. Please do not:

  • try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the website or any system behind it;
  • scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others (AI agents are welcome: use /llms.txt);
  • use it to mislead people, for example by pretending to be Guv or to have our endorsement.

Our content and docs

The website, its text, design and the Guv name and logo belong to us. You may use the code samples in our documentation, the guv.yaml schema and the OpenAPI description freely in your own projects, including commercial ones, without asking.

Our responsibility to you

We work hard to keep the website accurate and available, but we provide it as it is, and it may sometimes be out of date or unavailable. We are not responsible for losses that come from relying on it, except where the law says we must be.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that English law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, nothing here affects your legal rights.

Security research

If you find a vulnerability, please report it as described on our security page. Good faith research that follows those rules is welcome and will not be treated as a breach of these terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

We may update these terms. The date of the current version is at the top of this page. Last updated 23 October 2026.
